    A huge thank you to all parents who attended our Nutrition Parent Group yesterday, hosted by Matt Brearley from Tameside and Glossop's Children's Nutrition Team. It was a great turn out and was lovely to have so many parents in school. Please keep an eye out for future parent group events in September! A huge thank you to Matt for delivering the session and for the information on meal plans, recipe books and budget planners.

  • Celebrating the Jubilee

    With the Queens Jubilee coming up, we have been looking through old pieces of record keeping.

     

    An original school log book has been found, going back as far as 1952.

  • The Heys Parent Group

    Thank you to all of the parents and carers who attended the first Parent Group this afternoon. We had a fantastic turn out and it was great to have conversations with you all.

    We will be organising further Parent Groups and covering topics such as:

    - Supporting your child's mental health

    - Nutrition and cooking on a budget

    - School holidays activities for children

    - Sleep hygiene and better sleep patterns

     

    Our Uniform Swap Shop is now up and running so please feel free to browse through our uniform rail.

  • Visit from The Worry Wizard

    We were so excited to receive a visit from Amy and Tracey from The Worry Wizard! Our children have been working with Miss Wilde, completing interventions to support their wellbeing and working through The Worry Wizard programme. Our KS1 children had lots of fun at the teddy bear tea party and our KS2 children enjoyed meeting The Worry Wizard and playing a game based on finding matching pairs of wellbeing qualities. Thank you so much to Amy and Tracey who made the visit so special for our children.

    Active Tameside came into school last week and ran lunchtime activities with our children. The children played lots of different games including tug of war and hand ball - take a look at our pictures! Thank you for all the parents who completed the Fuel 4 Fun referral forms. The lunch time activities will be running each Wednesday lunch time until the Easter Holidays.

  • AmaSing for Ukraine

    Fri 11 Mar 2022 Miss Sidebottom

    At The Heys we raised money for Ukraine by wearing non-uniform and bringing in a donation. Year 3 also participated in a sponsored sing and dance session via zoom with AmaSing to raise money. The whole project raised over £1000!

  • Children’s Mental Health Week

    We celebrated children’s mental health week by taking part in class activities, such as mindfulness, goal making, art therapy, and much more. On Friday, everyone dressed to express! We think the children made a huge effort and confidently expressed themselves in all year groups.
