Health Week 2022
Monday - Healthy Eating
On Monday every class got to try some different healthy foods.
We tried peppers, snap peas, mangoes, pineapples, kiwis, grapefruit, plums, dark chocolate, raspberries, melons, hummus and bread sticks.
We jotted down if we liked or disliked the food so we could show our parents at home.
Monday - Swimming Gala
On Monday some of our year 5s and 6s went into Ashton to compete against local schools at a swimming gala.
They did a fantastic job! They showed off all of their swimming skills and were brilliant role models for the school.
We came 4th place with 12 points!
Tuesday - Share a Favourite Sport
On Tuesday every class teacher shared their favourite sport with their class.
In year 1, Mrs Bryan shared sprinting races.
In year 2, Miss Streets shared the heptathlon.
In year 3, Miss Sidebottom shared cheerleading.
In year 4, Mrs Turner shared yoga.
In year 6, Mr Hornby shared taekwondo.

Tuesday Lunch - Staff vs. Kids - Rounders
The year 6s took on staff at a game of rounders.
We are very proud to announce that the staff team won!
Tuesday - EYFS Sports Day
We want to say a big well done to all the children in EYFS! They were really resilient with every sports day challenge and they showed excellent sportsmanship throughout.

Wednesday Lunch - Staff vs. Kids - Football
The year 6s took on staff at a game of football.
We are very proud to announce that the staff team won (again!)
and the score was 3-1.
Thursday Lunch - Staff vs. Kids - Basketball
The year 6s and 5s took on staff at a game of basketball.
We are very proud to announce that the staff team won (again again!)
and the score was 6-2.
Thursday - Sports Day
We want to say a big well done to all of the children for their fantastic efforts during sports day. They showed real enthusiasm and team work throughout every challenge and we are immensely proud of them.
The scores this year were extremely close but we need to say a big well done to the blue team who won today!
Friday - Intra-school Athletics Competition
Friday began outdoors with our Sports Ambassadors running different athletics events including javelin, sprinting, long jump and shotput.
Unfortunately, the weather wasn't on our side for the afternoon!
Nevertheless we quickly adapted our set up and ran some various athletics activities in the hall for the other classes including ladder runs, continuous running and jumping activities.
Friday Lunch - Staff vs. Kids - Volleyball
The year 6s took on staff at a game of volleyball.
We are very proud to announce that the staff won! That means we were undefeated this year!
The score for volleyball was 53-43.
