 Mela 2023

As a whole school community we all celebrated Mela. This is where we celebrate all of the festivals from the different cultures. All of our families were invited to each make and send in food for the children to enjoy.

We did lots of arts and crafts during the day. Each class focused on harvest in different cultures. We had parent volunteers come into school to draw henna patterns on the children's  hands.

The children and staff performed Bollywood dances which were enjoyed by all.

We had assemblies, where the children got to show their parents what they had been doing for Mela, from reading poems, to performing dances, to making masks and sun catchers.

To end the wonderful day, the children had a feast in their classrooms, where they got to taste a variety of delicious food prepared for them by their parents/carers. The parents/carers gathered in the hall where they had their own feast and an opportunity to speak to other families within our school community.

It was a great community event, enjoyed by all.

Please take a look at the photos to see what amazing things took place in our school.
