Year 1 - Attack vs Defence
Year 1 have been learning to:
-Run and stay in a space, changing direction and speed to avoid the defenders.
-When defending, pupils will successfully make a tag.
-Create and apply simple tactics for attacking and defending.
-Develop understanding of why rules are important in a game.
Year 2 - Attack vs Defence
Year 2 have been learning to:
-Move between attack and defence as the game changes.
-Move in to space when attacking and tag the opposition when defending.
-Understand the consequences of breaking the rules and not applying tactics successfully.
Year 3 - Tag Rugby
Year 3 have been learning to:
-Develop passing and moving skills to outwit opponents and keep possession of the ball.
-Explore how we tag an opponent.
-Apply understanding of where, when and why we pass and move, in order to score a try.
-Understand the importance of tagging.
Year 4 - Tag Rugby
Year 4 have been learning to:
-Apply a secure understanding of passing, moving to create space and score.
-Apply tagging to prevent an attacker scoring.
-Demonstrate a growing understanding of the difference between attack and defence, understanding when and why to apply certain skills.

Year 1 - Ball Skills (hands)

-Send a ball towards a target, applying the correct technique and aiming carefully.
-Receive and stop a ball.
-Demonstrate developing concentration skills as they focus on the target, their partner and the ball.
Year 2 - Ball Skills (feet)

-Apply their passing and dribbling skills in order to keep possession and score a point.
-Focus on their partner and team members, developing an understanding of the consequences in a game when mistakes are made.
Year 3 - Athletics

-Develop ability to run and jump as fast/far as possible with the correct techniques and throw for distance exploring the most effective technique.
