On this webpage you will find information about what we are learning this half term, key events, pictures of the children's learning and useful websites to visit.
Year 5 will be doing PE on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon, so please ensure your child arrives in school wearing their PE kits.
Forest school dates will be put on Class Dojo, but our sessions are Monday afternoon.
If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to send me a dojo message and I will respond within the working week.
I am looking forward to seeing all the progress the children make during this half term!

History
What did the Greeks ever do for us?
English
In English this half term, we will be reading Secrets of a Sun King, by Emma Carroll.
Our stimulus for writing will be the Adventures of Robin Hood (as part of our Myths and Legends topic).
The children will be writing their own end to the story, and continuing Robin's quest using their own ideas!

Maths
This half term we will be covering a few different Maths units. We will continue learning about Decimals and Percentages, and then revisiting Area and Perimeter.
The children will then be looking at Statistics, where they will be creating their own line graphs and looking at using data to interpret information from timetables.
In Science we will be learning about Animals including Humans.
In Design and Technology we will be looking at healthy foods and diets, and create our own Spaghetti Bolognaise!
In Computing our unit is 'Databases'.
In Religious Education, we will be learning about living by the values of Jesus in the 21st century.
In French, we will be looking at items of clothing and learn new words for these!
In PE, we will be using our athletic skills to help us keep fit!
In music, we will learn the song: Fresh Prince of Bel-Air to improvise and compose our own music!
