What is Forest School?
Forest School is an exciting opportunity for your child to experience nature and learn outdoors.
At Forest School the children learn from first hand experience and develop skills like perseverance, independence and responsibility.
These are all skills that will help them to achieve more when they are back in the classroom.
Children are able to practice and use their Maths and English skills, as well as their important speaking and listening skills.
Where is our Forest School?
Our school has a designated Forest School area which has trees, shrubs, living willow sculptures, a grassy area a mud kitchen, an outdoor classroom and a fire pit. It is a very special place in school and a lovely place to explore.
Who runs Forest School?
One of our qualified level three Forest School Practitioners lead the sessions, working with one of the adults from your childs class.
What did Ofsted say?
"Subjects are linked together in creative and exciting ways to help pupils follow up questions about areas of learning. The establishment of Forest School in the school grounds is a wonderful addition providing great interest and opportunities to investigate and explore learning."
Some of our children have been outside enjoying the school grounds. Their task was to build a shelter in 30 minutes.
Some of their ideas were really amazing!
