In Year 2 we have been looking at capacity and volume. Today the children has used a range of containers and a cup and recorded how many full cups it takes to fill the different containers.

We have been looking at length and height in Year 2.

We have been using the unifix to measure different items found around the classroom.

We have also been using the rulers to measure a range of different items from around the classroom.

We have been looking at Time in Year 2.

Can you tell the time?

What are the times you can see?

In our maths sessions we have been looking at fractions. In the pictures we were working with the unifix to share a given number and then record 1/2 and 1/4 of the whole number. The children had to make sure the groups were equal first.

In our maths sessions we have been looking at shape. In the pictures we were working in pairs to record the name of the shape, how many sides and how many vertices they have.

In our maths sessions we have been looking at multiplication and division. In the pictures we were looking at sharing, we used the unifix to support our learning.

In our maths sessions we have been looking at money. In the picture we were looking at finding the total. We did this by pretending to be in a shop. We then used our prior knowledge of column addition to add up the two amounts.

In our maths sessions we have been looking at 'adding and subtracting in 10's'  using the column method.
